Lady Gaga

This conversation occurred the other day during lunch:

My dad: Isn’t there a Lady Gaga concert at UVA next month?

My brother: Yeah.

My dad: Do college kids listen to Lady Gaga?

My brother: Yeah, of course.

My dad: Oh, because I thought I was the only one that liked her.

The Past Three Weeks

Because of a lack of connection to the interwebs, I have not been able to create any recent blog posts. So, to make up for it, I will make this concise almost meaningless post.

So, for those of you who may or may not know, I have been at CTY for the past three weeks or so. And I must say, it has been one of the greatest times of my life. Not only did I meet some old friends (Olivia, Lisa Ann, David, Nick, and of course Lawrence Luo) I made some really great new friends and had the greatest hall in history. No joke. Pulling so many midnight pranks in one week never gave me so much energy.

My hall consisted of 15 other ossim possum hallmates and one super chill RA. Blaise is probably the most relaxed met I have ever met. Even after letting us prank him, twice, he acted totally chill and literally let us do pretty much whatever we wanted. Plus, he had an awesome mustache. Anyways, 599 was a great success and for whoever that doesn’t know what 599 was… Shame on you. One of my hallmates, the great King James I (Ryan Cebulko) bought 600 cups at Turkey Hill. That night, all of us stayed up until one and began one of the greatest pranks ever. We placed 599 plastic cups filled with water in front of Blaise’s door one by one so that when he woke up, there would be no way for him to leave his room. This took roughly 50 minutes. Of course, it would have been much better if Blaise had been in his room and not out on night patrol… But his reaction was still pricless.

Now, at CTY this year, I found myself learning a lot about myself and about others, that I am not quite at the liberty to say aloud. But I will say one thing, I learned that Alexia is a DKF and that after multiple nights of staying up very late, one’s tolerance of anything goes down noticeably.

As my (possibly) last year at CTY, I would like to say that this was the best experience I have ever had, even though it could have been better if there were certain people there…. *cough* TIANAY, PETER WOO *cough*.

Well, I’d like to end with a little anecdote… Don’t screw up microwaveable popcorn and make your dorm’s fire alarm go off because we will run around your dorm blasting fire burning on our speakers and embarrassing you.

And for everybody else that doesn’t know what CTY is or didn’t know what I was talking about for this entire post….

SUCKS TO BE YOU.

Bed Bath and (Truly) Beyond

So today I made a run to one of the most convenient stores there is, Bed Bath and Beyond. For those of you who live in a cave, in which case I shouldn’t even mention because then you would not be able to read my blog, Bed Bath and Beyond is a store where you can get pretty much anything. Like really. Anything. So I was just browsing around looking for a new laundry hamper and I saw one of the most curious things. I saw a short, stubby, asian lady wearing once of the grotesque Bart Simpson t-shirts I have ever seen. I was just bewildered. There is probably only one thing that confuses me more. Girls in short skirts and Uggs.

Seriously People. Just make up your mind. Is it hot or cold?

Anyways back to the Beyond. After the encounter with the bizarre sight, I found the laundry hamper I was looking for and ventured back to the check-out lines. On my way back I found one of the coolest things I had ever seen. A blade-less fan that was also a strobe light. I never realized that there could be so much awesome in one small circular piece of metal. And for those of you that know me well, strobe lights are sorta my thing. (UNCE UNCE UNCE UNCE UNCE UNCE).

After enjoying the fan and playing some techno in my head and rocking with it, I made my way back to the registers. Now the cashier at the certain register I went to was just shocking. Standing before me at the register I saw a roughly 19 year old white male with his head shaved, both ears pierced, his left nostril had a ring in it, he had a point metal object sticking out of his lip and he was wearing a chain around his neck. I had never seen so much metal on one person in my entire life. If somebody had gotten a giant magnet and pulled it out anywhere within a 1 mile radius, he would be screwed. It was just ridiculous how many piercings he had. It was as if it was during the christmas time, he would look like a human christmas tree.

People these days….

Things I Like

So, I have realized that the last post I created did not meet satisfactory expectations so I am making a new post of the top 10 things I like to make up for it. Just seems like an easy way to blog about stuff without really thinking about it. So hear is my list.

I like…

1. Watermelon. Watermelon is just about the best fruit in the world. If I had a watermelon tree in my backyard I would have watermelon with every meal. No, actually watermelon would be my every meal. And watermelon seeds are the most fun. You just can’t shoot seeds like that with any other fruit.

2. Fire. Fire is the world’s best toy. There is absolutely nothing that you can’t do with fire, more or less.  And with fire, we can have fireworks which are totally awesome possum. Especially Roman Candles. Lucy Taylor knows what I’m talking about. And besides, Cool Guys Don’t Look at Explosions.

Iron Man. That's it.

3. Iron Man. Iron Man is probably the best super hero there is. He is just like a better, more badass version of Bill Gates. With a hot girlfriend. That is all.

Just so much Awesome...

4. How I Met Your Mother. Funniest show ever. And Neil Patrick Harris. Greatest gay actor there is. And five seasons into it, Ted has still not gotten to the part where he met his wife. Fantastic.

Awwww yaaaa

5. Brownies. Brownies are like really small chocolate cakes that are much more convenient. What’s not to like about them? Like really. Everybody likes brownies.

Don't these just look delicious?

6. Narwhals. A unicorn whale. There is nothing else to say.

7. Jessica Alba. Most attractive woman on the planet. Hands down.

I’m not going to put a picture up just because I want to keep this relatively clean.

8. Up. By far the best Pixar movie I have seen. The people at Pixar are geniuses. A talking dog, a colorful bird, a floating house, cranky old men, fat asian kids, and blimps. That is everything one could possibly want in a movie. And it is just such a sad movie. Especially the part when Mr. Frederickson looked in the back of Ellie’s adventure book. That was the saddest part of the movie.

9. Ben Pease. This guy is pretty brah. Even though I met him just this year I feel like I’ve known him forever. There is just so much cool in this kid that I can’t describe it in words. So, I won’t. Instead I will use this picture.

Benjamin Pease and Tim Courtney

10. I can’t think of a tenth one so I will just end this list with a picture of a cat doing something that a human would do.

A cat with a gun

So… Thats a list of 10 things that I like…. or 9.

Apple Store

So… Today is the 4th of July. Do you know what that means? 174 days until Christmas!!!

Anyways, I am currently at the Apple Store and while my brother is looking around at nifty gadgets and such I am bored out of mind and I have some pretty bad pool toe. So I guess since I don’t really have anything else to do I’ll make a quick post. I may or may not make one later? Whatever. But these new macbooks are REALLY nice. This thing just looks fantastic. I sorta want one now. OH well. I am a PC and Windows 7 was my idea…..

Blogging… I guess…

So… my first blog post. I am still not really sure about what I am doing. Are the point of these things just to ramble on, and on, and on, and on? That sorta seems a bit repetitive… Well anyways, I decided to do this because Yousif is and everything that Yousif does is automatically cool. So I’m pretty sure that by making a blog that makes me pretty cool….

This is actually probably going to be the last post I’ll make since I really do not know what I am doing. Just ranting on about things isn’t sorta my thing. If there is something bothering me I will 9 times out of 10 just flat out say it. And just now Ben Pease told me not to make a blog via text message. And Ben Pease is also pretty cool… I don’t know what to do now! So conflicted….

Bee tee dubs, one funny story and then I will leave. At my swim meet earlier this morning, I was swimming backstroke for the first time in three years. Also in a relay that I was not supposed to be swimming. Anyways, on my flip turn, I didn’t know what my stroke count was and I flipped too late. So I was too close to the wall and the only direction that I could push off the wall was down. And sideways. Into the next lane. So that sort of cost us our relay, but it was okay since we still won our meet. Even though, we only had two 13-14s. Tristan Lau and Aaron Wickard. Actually pretty much all of the Wickards are good. And the other branches of their family like the lefors.

Oh well. I have been talking too long.
